Chop chop chop WC SotW 14-19.1.2020
Hello fellow grinders!
I recently participated in the woodcutting Skill of the Week competition and decided to make some rough calculations regarding the week for those interested in statistics.
The competition started on tuesday the 14th 2am gmt+2 and ended on monday the 20th 2am gmt+2
I started off at lvl 60 woodcutting, 291,790xp and finished the competition at lvl 87 with 4,061,870xp giving me a total of 3,770,080xp gain and 3rd place.
I did this by chopping willows and willows only the whole competition, (excluding two bags of teak trying to figure out if they were worth it while still banking what i chop) so how many willows does this mean and how long did it take?
At lvl 85 woodcutting I was averaging 49.7k xp an hour which is the number I will use to calculate the time it took.
Willows give 67.5xp per log which translates to 55,853 willows give or take a few.
With an average speed of 49,7k xp an hour this took me approximately 76 hours.
As a contrast to how many willows this is fletching arrow shafts would give me fletching lvl 30 to 71.
So there you have it, it was a fun week for me since I like challenges that require stamina, be it mental or physical. I would like to thank the whole CC for making such a competition possible.
See you in the CC! Daga.

Very nice calculations, and a huge congrats on finishing third! Because Daga is a hcim, he decided to let me hold onto his winnings until he gets his first 99 skill in which I will be hosting a drop party with his winnings! Very generous of him, and I'm sure others will appreciate it as well. Just keep me posted so we can get it arranged

Assuming the xp rate from 60-70 was much lower than the amount used at 85, you probably spent closer to 80-85ish hours woodcutting over the week. Congratulations, you spent 3.5 days, LITERALLY HALF A WEEK, woodcutting, IN A WEEK.
I would have gone insane! Big props to those gains!

Thank you Dab I will make sure to let you know when I'm closing up to my first 99. For now I have no estimate when that will be.
Yeah Element you would assume correct. I just didn't pay attention to the average xp/h for the first few days and since I would hate to overestimate my workload I decided to go with more sure numbers.
On the going insane part I will have to agree that the two full days off i took right after except for participating briefly in the trio max party felt reaaal nice.
