Re: Ironman Guide/help
Honestly, I hadn't seen this before but now when looking at it, I feel like i might make and ironman or try to maintain one! Your guides are really detailed and helpful! Will definitely bookmark this! Also, I've seen some people ask what slayer tasks you should do, cancel or block. Might be a good idea =)

Re: Ironman Guide/help
do it, Daddy! not my fault if you get hooked into it though. ;P
when it comes to blocking tasks, it all depends on what you want to get out of slayer. I mean, There are obvious ones like black demons and metal dragons(until higher herblore.. say prayer potions or antifires)
But in my personal opinion, Black demons, save to block ASAP, 2nd I blocked Daggs (Until DKS), 3rd I blocked Nechs, 4th Suqah I'll give general reasoning to each.
Black Demons - Supplies used for them to be killed efficiently are less obtainable for ironmen/ironwomen, yes you can range from a safespot if you don't mind a 2-3 day long task
Daggs - simply they are an irritating task without a cannon or DKS, They are semi fast, but stuff all slayer exp for the time you spend there, not to mention your food supplies going down the drain
Nechs - unless you feel up for Bursting or Barraging them in zeah, they are a painful task and suck the life out of supplies
Suqah - they drop what.. clues? WOOPY BLOODY DO! for the time it takes and the food used to kill these, far from efficient - if you want clues go to Hellhounds. I mean yeah, they do drop gems also... but what task doesn't? >_>
Note that these are all personal opinions, my honest suggestion is if you hate the task, block it, we play for fun... well SHOULD BE!
very general for a little bit of slayer help, but it just shows that it 'really comes down to personal opinions.

Re: Ironman Guide/help
Never thought I'd see the day I do an ironman Farming guide.... but here goes.
Never train farming... the end....
Joking, one of my hated skills in all honesty, but lets face it, we need farming as an ironman.
There is so many different methods you can use to get your hands on some low level seeds to start farming with, but personally, Slayer would have to be the all time best.
lower level slayer monsters have a tendancy to be herb/seed droppers..
if you want to avoid slayer for the time being there are a few other methods you can obtain low level seeds with, these being buying from seed stall owners and pickpocketing master farmers.
BUT HERE IS THE BEST PART!
You can actually avoid having to use low level seeds to start with... here is how! (note that this method does require other skills levels but they are low)
Here is a list of quests to smash out to boost your farming before you plant a seed!
1) Fairy Tale Part 1 - this requires NOTHING! NADA! free 3,500 farming exp upon completion! (17 farming)
2) Forgettable Tale - this requires 17 Farming and 22 cooking... best part of this?.... FTP1 gets you 23 exp off 18 farming! BONUS! (25 Farming)
3) Garden of Tranquility - This requires 25 farming.. and again, forgettable tale has gotten you to 25! (30 Farming)
4) My Arm's Big Adventure - this requires 29 farming, garden of tranq has just gotten you to 30... WOOP WOOP! (33 Farming)
5) Enlightened Journey - This requires 30 Farming, this is no issue if you have 33 after MABA. (34 Farming)
6) Your next Farming exp quest (with low farm req) is Rum Deal, requires 40 farming. so some farming between enlightened Journey and Rum Deal is needed. (41 Farming)
7) Last quest for farming exp that is worth a mention...kind of... is Grim Tales. you are required to have 45 farming, completion of the quest will not level you from 45 if you have just gotten 45 farming.
*****PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THESE REQUIREMENTS DO NOT INCLUDE SUB QUESTS*****
AFTER THESE QUESTS~~~~
I suggest slayer and Wintertodt for gathering seeds if you wish to grind some farming... while waiting for your seeds to grow, Tithe Farm is well worth the effort! WELL WORTH IT!
I am no professional at Farming (only level 72), but this is the best method I could come up with.
if you want m to go more in depth with any of this, feel free to reply post and I'll fill the gaps in!

Re: Ironman Guide/help
When I get somewhere with Auto and if I ever have time, I "might" think of starting on an iron man. But then again I love the GE.... so...

Thank you Mashy and Lok.
it helps pass time, Lok. so I suppose it is a side project to keep me away from repeating the same old story day in and day out.

Re: Ironman Guide/help
I disagree with the "don't horde". If you have space in the bank you may as well use it. You can get rid of unnecessary items later. Having a lot of random items in your bank means that when you start a quest and look down the list of required items, often you'll have most/all of them already. Rather than "oh crap, I need a ball of wool.. guess i need to find some shears.. shear a sheep.. spin the ball of wool... zzzz" Dyes are another great example. A whole bunch of quests require dyes, and they're a pain to get. So I'd recommend making multiple of each colour when doing goblin diplo so you never have to go back. Drop them once you get quest cape.
Also a lot of items are needed for clue scrolls, until you fill up all of those hidey holes, you're going to need em. Things like rune full helm. You can't just buy it or make it until you're a really high smithing level. So if you get it from a drop, don't alch it, hold on to it.

Re: Ironman Guide/help
but if you were to horde too much you fill your bank and have to live off continuously dropping/swapping items.
you are right though, I have several sets of full rune banked, because I do not sell or alch them, but that only takes up 4 spots.
When I say don't horde, I mean in the way of easy to obtain items. and of course, after quest cape, free up some spots, I think I cleared 50+ spots after quest cape.
on that, BUMP!

Re: Ironman Guide/help
Great stuff in this thread, but I also took exception with the 'dont horde' rule!
One of the most hilarious feelings on my ironman is preparing to do a quest. Alright, I need all this junk. Potato. Onion. Mith axe. Swamp tar. Bronze chain. Guam potion (unf). 17 lava eels. Red king worm.
As I search my bank, 99% of the time I have it and I cant help but laugh my ass off and say "how in the name of god did I get this?" Feels good though doing quests!
I'd say don't horde if you have quest cape.
