Greetings from Belgium
After being in the CC for 4 days I figured it's time to introduce myself and get that smiley!
Im 2Fat2Walk, 28 years old from Belgium and a die hard rs'er. Playing since the very beginning of rs2, with various short and long breaks.
After 3 years of almost no rs, I decided to come back, because you can never really quit Runescape.
My current goal is to get my total lvl up to at least 1800 combined with getting a quest cape, while doing some combat/slayer too. I would also like to eventually get a higher rank in the clan
My hobbies are turning wrenches on (old) cars and modifying them, and racing a track day event every once in a while.
I'll post a pic of my '91 Audi 80 project car when I am able to in 5 days.
Quick tip; most fun is located under the hood tho

Re: Greetings from Belgium
Hey there! I remember you. We've already talked a little bit, I believe. Thank you for the intro
I think almost all of us have taken breaks of varying lengths at one point or another. Burnout can come rather easily with grindy games like RuneScape. But as you say; you never really quit. I'm glad you decided to come back to the game! I'm always happy to see more (clan) newcomers like myself. You've found a community that I can confidently say is the best I've ever been a part of. Seriously. I can't think of a single clan member that has been anything but friendly toward me. I sincerely hope you stick around.
Your goals sound fairly similar to mine, although I don't expect a Quest Cape to be in the cards any time soon, simply due to my aversion to questing. But the leveling and PVM are spot on. I'm really eager to check out all of the bossing content I missed out on when I was younger, in addition to the new content that's on offer.
As for your rank goal, perhaps I can give you a bit of unsolicited advice. First, have a look at this thread: https://www.osrsadvice.com/t3743-how-to-best-get-promoted-2019-edition. It does a good job of explaining the process.
Besides that, giving new arrivals a sincere, warm welcome on their introduction thread is, in my opinion, one of the best things you can do. It only takes a few minutes, and it can mean a lot to a new clan member. I know, because I'm still quite new myself.
I'm sure you'll do fine, at any rate. It's not difficult to start getting ranks as long as you treat people well and are willing to put in the effort
Putting my usual boring rambling aside, that sounds like a pretty interesting project car! I'm looking forward to seeing it. I've never been a huge car guy myself, but I enjoyed the classes I took in school, and my dad and I had a 1974 Fiat 124 that we played around with for a couple years. I don't think I've retained much of what I learned, sadly, but it was fun while it lasted.
Before I go, I'd recommend checking out the free Monthly Lottery thread, for obvious reasons: https://www.osrsadvice.com/t3875-monthly-clan-lotto-1m-goodybag-september
Also, here's an invite to the clan Discord server: https://discord.gg/d7bPnPa. Feel free to drop by.
I'll be waiting on those car pics! See you around
P.S. THIS COMMENT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE QUITE SO LONG

Re: Greetings from Belgium
Welcome, our lovely Syllabic has covered everything pretty much, good luck with your goals, hope you love the clan, and I will be interested to see your pics, although any question I ask about cars is usually, what colour is it.
Bruges is one of my favourite places, and I've always felt very welcome in Belguim, what's not to like about a country that celebrates great chocolate. See you in game

Welcome to the offsite! You're right when you say you can never really quit RS until RS quits you, I've tried many times but I always get sucked back into the game lol
If you were after a smiley, make sure you go and post your RSN in this thread: https://www.osrsadvice.com/t3741-looking-for-a-smiley Syll has already covered our how to get promoted
Hope to catch you around in game

Re: Greetings from Belgium
After almost a month I guess its time to check and write something on the forums
I'm having a great time in the clan meeting all these new people and even joined my first clan event at Zammy. (for way too little time )
I fully agree on the chocolate and you probably won't believe me, but Bruges (Brugge in dutch) is my favorite city.
Alright now for the car guys, and the people who are interested in a some car talk
My daily car in an '04 Audi a4 1.8t quattro with 220hp. It just has to be reliable. Driven it twice on the Nurburgring which was great fun, but I can't trash this car too hard as it needs to keep driving
My other car, which is my project, is a '92 Audi 80 (Audi 4000 in the us)
It had a 2.3 inline five cylinder engine with 134 hp. I've driven it for about a year on a set of KW v3 coilovers.
Then the search for more power began, so I bought a cheap '87 Audi 200 with a 2.2 five cylinder engine with turbo. It has 190hp stock.
I rebuild the complete engine as it had seen better days. New pistons, bearings, turbo, you name it, I replaced it. I also improved the flow of the intake and exhaust ports.
I swapped this engine into my Audi 80 and made a new wiring harness to run an aftermarket ECU which enables me to control everything the engine does.
The car is running great with my home made tune on the ECU. However, to unleash the full potential of the engine, i have to get it tuned on a dyno which is happening next month.
The car is fun to drive and is really fast already. Estimated around 260hp, as a new Hyundai I30N doesn't stand a chance in a sprint, and various other cars that I honestly didn't expect winning from.
I'll post a couple of pics below.
This was my first car, '94 Audi 80 2.0 4 cylinder with 90hp
Pulling the engine from the Audi 200
Looking a bit better
Sitting where it's supposed to be
This is my project car on the outside, its color is blue
Oh, by the way, I'll check on the forums more frequently from now on

Re: Greetings from Belgium
Dude please post a thread about this so I can follow it and more members will see it
https://www.osrsadvice.com/f20-real-life-blogs
It would probably fit best in that section ^, but you could also post it in Off-topic as well. We also have a car thread here: https://www.osrsadvice.com/t3001-post-your-cars-v2 if you don't want to make your own thread.
Amazing cars & pics, I'm an Audi driver myself as well. My parents have also had Audi's my entire life as well, they used to have a really nice Audi 90 when I was a kid. Really look forward to more pics mate.
