ITEM LOANING WITHIN THE CLAN CHAT - A MESSAGE TO ALL MEMBERS

Hello everyone,

First let me start off by saying to those who follow the game rules and clan rules, you're awesome and we the clan moderation team appreciate you more than can be put into words. You all lift the clan to a high standard of quality that makes us proud.

We as the moderation and leadership do everything we can to make sure the members of the community are the kind, caring and respectful members we all deserve to be a part of in order to give you the best experience out of our time on Old School Runescape and we will continue to do our absolute best to make sure we continue to improve your every day experience.

Recent events however have led to the team needing to reiterate our stance in relation to the trading or loaning of items between members and guests alike. We do not encourage, condone or support any member loaning an item without collateral GP equal to the price of the item in order to protect you as a player and the hard work you have put into your account and finances within the game.

Please also do note collateral does NOT fully protect you due to the fluctuating prices of various items it can lead to a significant difference in the prices if the collateral-swap has been for over a few days. The clan bank is unable to assure you a reimbursement should you find yourself unable to retrieve your item but please make sure to report any situations where you believe any malicious intent may have been committed to a member of the moderation team so we can take necessary action to prevent anyone else being impacted.

In conclusion we do allow collateral based loaning within the clan chat between members but the risk falls solely on the members involved and although we will take necessary actions where possible we highly suggest you protect yourselves by only trusting people you are comfortable with and making sure you take necessary safe guards such as taking a screen shot of trades and agreeing on a maximum loan time.

Very useful indeed! When I was new at the cc, I lent a valuable object to someone who never gave it back and also dissappeared on us.... So, yeah this is wise...

Just a random bump

Another random bump. Important message.

I am just bumping this reminder as a clannie has had a bad experience with a long term friend and been scammed. The scammer is not and has not been in the clan ever as far as I can tell.......so as it was trust trade based on friendship there is little ranks can do to step in.
It never hurts however to keep this topic  at the front of our minds, if it saves one person from being scammed or at least made them more cautious...we have done the best we can. Take  screenies, read the opening post and trust no one.......hard to hear but family members, rl friends, and scammers in particular  can and will bide their time for the  cheap thrill presumably of stealing virtual cash on a game.....its dishonest its pathetic and it hurts...stay safe.

As this is the season of goodwill, and people want to nice to each other, the heading of this topic on the top
of the page, could do with a read as its a good reminder that not everything goes to plan, and we need to stay safe with our belongings.
Ads you will see inevitably these things crop up year on year and from time to time, so be clear in your own mind what your expectations are and most of all read the excellent advice.
