New policy concerning promotions...

It has been decided that members will NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR PROMOTION that have Obscene names....

Also for future promotions to starred ranks a member will have to have a offsite presence..

I think that's very fair, on both counts, and taking part in discussions on here, so we openly know what is going on is very helpful, never be afraid to disagree, or widen a discussion, or offer a different/better solution or show support for all the good things.

Both new policy's sound good.

I think we needed this. So for any future star promotion, your offsite presence and whether you are taking part in discussions will be required. If you have no offsite presence, you will not receive promotion to star ranks.

to what degree is Bumping the forum thread considered offsite participation?

I'd prefer to see someone who actively gives opinions, starts or takes part in topics, adds their personality to the forums so its a team effort, not to undervalue the contribution bumping makes, but whilst the clan benefits, as fellow ranks its nice to know what others pick up on, so promotions, people to watch, good or bad are even more valuable to my way of thinking.

Overall i think its a great policy, even though i know I'm fairly guilty of not always being present on the offsite

I will no longer be giving smileys to those with obscene names....

I dont really have an answer for that but we have always considered bumping our forum thread as very important to our clan..showing that little extra love does catch our attention for sure.

totally agree with withholding smileys from unsuitable names, we often have a full clan these days, and very soon we shall be struggling to find enough smileys for all those that want them, unless jagex relent and give us a clan system like rs2.

Any that already have a smiley will be grandfathered in.....

I didn't even know you can make obsene names in the game. Is there no filter when creating your runescape persons name?

There is a filter but it's coded in ways that someone could get around it. For example, it may disallow one curseword but if you combine it with another word, it may not register in their system as a curseword anymore. So there IS a filter, just not 100% effective.

I think the previous person has misunderstood our intentions, in a mature clan we don't need someone to manufacture names that we don't want to read or deal with.......just saying.
