Yeh fossils are great prayer xp, sadly irons gotta gather the calcite and pyropshite, we cant just go to GE, but still worth it in the end ^^

Current plan is: 99 Mining -> Use ores to get 99 Smithing -> Use alchables to get 99 Fletching.
I have been working on Fletch Prep slowly over the time

Just need to combine those arrow shafts and feathers into headless arrows and buy all the arrowheads ^^

In the 99 breaks, I plan to collect Calcite, so I can get 90 Prayer.
My final amount of fossils is:
557 Medium Fossils
348 Large Fossils
81 Rare Fossils
Total = 1.281.500 Prayer XP
Which is 400k aka 1400 dragon bones from the legendary 90 Prayer.
I need a total of 281 Calcite for these fossils, I already got 65, so need to gather 216 in my breaks

Purple Dudes Rambling Corner - Pest Control Edition

I do these ramblings every once in a while when I discover new methods to do things and I have discovered something huge, which I wanted to turn into a theory crafting.

In my journey to Max, there are certain skills I know will take some time, like Runecrafting and Fishing, but those would take time on a normal account too, so I don't really theorize much about those xD

2 Skills in particular is where most of my journey to max is challenging, namely Herblore and Prayer.
Fun fact, out of the hours I have left until max, Prayer is 25% of them, while Herblore is 20% Those 2 skills are almost half lol

Herblore is very simple, just do enough herb runs and 10 workers on Kingdom Herbs, the secondaries suck, but I consider Herblore a matter of time.

Prayer has been THE skill I have been dreading to do, because I had done the calculations, Pest Control and Soul Wars would have not been worth it, aka 20k xp/h vs the 33k xp/h I would get from killing Blue Dragons for bones.
But 20.000 Blue Dragons sounds horrible lol

While talking about Fletching, DarkFiresss recommended I do the fletching in Pest Control instead of bank standing, since I got 580k headless arrows and 580k broad arrows to make.
So I tested it out, and I make like 13.000 arrows per hour like this.. certainly kinda slow, BUT I also get 130 Points in Pest Control per hour...
And I have miscalculated in the past !!!
I have always assumed you get around 80-100 points per hour, hence me dismissing Pest Control as an option for prayer.

Well low and behold, 130 points per hour, means Pest Control is 33.4k xp/h in Prayer XD
In other words: GOODBYE BLUE DRAGONS

I still plan to do my Fossils 86-90 Prayer, then 92-99 Fletching in Pest Control will bring me 90-94 Prayer.
In total I will need to gather 26.780 Pest Control Points, and gotta exchange 4000 at a time, since that is the cap.
But honestly, I enjoy Pest Control as a minigame, it is not mind numbingly boring like blue dragon massacre lol.

So Prayer is no longer a skill I dread to do, I think I will actually enjoy grinding Pest Control, the hard part will be 90-94 where I have to focus on Fletch too, but after that it is just normal Pest Control for 16.000 Points xD ^^

This is my current data on max: (Herblore is an estimation, but the rest are actual numbers ^^)
Hours to Max: 836h
Prayer - 206h = 25%
Runecrafting - 150h = 18%
Herblore - 150h = 18%
Fishing - 115h = 14%
Mining - 55h = 7%
Construction - 55h = 7%
Smithing - 40h = 5%
Cooking - 35h = 3%
Hunter - 30h = 3%
Fletching - 0h

Most game modes are enjoyable, just don't burn yourself at Pest Control.

Yeh I will take the Pest Control in pieces, like for 90-94 prayer I will make like 50k broad arrows at a time ^^

Goal: Hunter SOTW or 90+ Stats

After I was done with Woodcutting, I started killing Ancient Zygomites for Calcite and Pyrosphite, killed a decent amount lol


Considering they are a 1/7 drop, I was pretty much on drop rate

All that training also gave me my first skill with 20M XP


After that I used my fossils ^^



Sadly I was missing 70k Prayer XP, so went 2½ hours to Pest Control and got my 20th 90 Skill, 3 to go


Which also advanced my combat level ^^


Skills left for 90+ stats: 1 Fishing lvl, 5 Construction lvls and 2 Runecrafting lvls ^^

Though I may grind some Hunter since it is Skill of the Week, I am 95 Hunt after all, close to 99 ^^

Nice gains! I'm looking forward to eventually using my fossils for prayer.

Yeh they are decent prayer xp, got 1.5m xp/h when cashing them in :O

I have decided to aim for 90+ stats now that Prayer is 90, the first one I am aiming for is Runecrafting ^^
Still got a bit to go for a level, but got this one now, which makes me able to skip NPC Contact

Getting very close to base 90s! Con should be a pretty quick (but expensive!) one!

Do you think GOTR is a pretty good method for rc exp across all levels or does it really shine on high levels?

Construction for me is just a matter of training, thanks to mahogany homes I already got 99 Banked and with homes it is 200k xp/h, low for construction, but it is however only 1/3rd of the cost compared to normal method, and compared to my other skills, 200k is alot lol

GOTR, while not the fastest is a fun method to 99, the XP/h scales with your lvl. I am 88rc atm and I get approx 50k xp/h and at the late 90s it will be 60k xp/h. And in the early lvls it would be 20k Xp/h, so it scales 20k-60k depending on your lvl. And considering you lose nothing and actually GAIN runes too + the rewards, it is huuuuuge for early irons and a nice convenience for later irons

Even if you dont want to do it, I still recommend doing it for the outfit and the colossal pouch.
If you did ZMI with 4 pouches you would get like 50-55k xp/h(14.79 xp per ess with 53ess), while the Colossal Pouch(14.79 xp per ess with 66 ess) is +25% XP/h aka 60k-68k xp/h. Although lvl req is 85, the +25% boost in xp from 85+ is massive for rc.
And the outfit is +60% Runes, which allows you to do certain diaries earlier, like the falador elite could be done without boost 2-3 lvls early due to the +60% runes

I at least plan to do GOTR to 99

I did not get 92 Fishing in SOTW, but the 91 was still nice ^^

I have been focusing massively on Herb Runs, and if I keep that focus up, I can have herblore banked in 3 months xD, which would be nice, since it is one of the longer skills to bank and get over with, question is: What runs out first? My motivation or my seeds? Find out next time in Dragonball Z!! ^^

But yeh I am now aiming for 99 Mining, which will be followed by 99 Smithing, will be nice to get a Gatherer Skill done, during Smith grind I also plan to green log Giants Foundry because why not
Either way, I am looking forward to the Mining grind, 250k from 96 ^^
