Fire cape journey
Hey guys!
So, I have set myself the goal of obtaining a fire cape before reaching level 90 combat. I'm an ironman and I want to try getting it with 45 defence first. It's been a very long time since I've done the fight caves therefore this challenge is not going to be easy. If I fail, I will train my combat skills untill I succeed and hopefully I won't reach level 90. Thought it would be interesting to share it with you guys since there is a few ironman in the clan. Moreover, maybe some of you don't have the money for the expensive gear setups and would like an alternative. So, let's get into this !
I still need a few quests and items before attempting to get my fire cape. Here is a quick list of what I need (from June 8th 2016) :
QUESTS/SKILLS/ITEMS
-Roving elves
-70+ ranged
-75 crafting
-50+ prayer
-Dragonstone jewleries
-Crystal bow(i) X2
-Barrows gloves
Green=completed , Yellow=in progress, Red=not started yet.
Stats (08/06/2016)
Here's the gear setup I'm going to be using :
-Proselyte sallet -Crystal bow (i)
-Black d'hide body* -Barrows gloves*
-Proselyte cuisse -Explorers ring
-Snakeskin boots
*These items might be replaced by god hide armour which I will obtain through hard clue scrolls.
Feel free to give any comments or suggestions ! Also, if you have any questions, you can post here or just pm me in game !
Shoutout to @Tuck for the great suggestion of using an explorers ring!
Good day guys.

Re: Fire cape journey
I hope know that obtaining a fire cape is NOT a necessity!
But you do seem to have everything figured out.
Good luck anyway!

Re: Fire cape journey
nice goal,
just a few things you may have over looked though.
getting 2 Crystals bows will cost you around 2M gp,
the ring of wealth (i) is imbued using Bounty Hunter points (selling mysterious emblems) not NMZ. this can make it quite challenging to obtain on an ironman, especially at lower levels.
also as for a ring, I THINK that the explorers ring (Lumby diary) gives a small prayer bonus which could be helpful.

Re: Fire cape journey
Hello guys,
I know that the fire cape is not a necessity. Though I've always wanted one on my ironman account
Thanks Tuck for your suggestion and noticing me about the row(i). I will definitely edit my post for that and use the explorers ring!
As far as the crystal bow cost, I'm fine with it and I've checked the wiki about it. I've aquired quite a cash stack preparing for that ! However, I do admit that it is not cheap. If I ever run low on cash after multiple attempts, I will use the rune crossbow and broad bolts as ammunition.
Love the support, take care!

Goodluck. Just relax at Jad. It helped me to watch a guides where his emotes were shown in detail. Might work for you!

Re: Fire cape journey
Hello wonderful clanmates!
So just an update on things. I did actually attempt to get my fire cape this week. I died beacause of the heelers (lol). However, the fight caves went pretty well. At wave 40, I didn't even eat once. I was pretty short on prayer potions though. I did have all the gear I needed but I had dragon gloves instead of the barrows ones. I also only had 70 ranged and 49 prayer. I guess that's what happens when you try to rush things...
Thanks Jorrit, I appreciate your support. I got the emotes figured out. I will try to be less stressed out next time though.
Good day.
