Suggestion - Announce Rank Ups

Howdy ya'll,

Recently, rankup announcements were implemented within the Discord server. I think this type of forum would be wonderful to have within the OSRS Advice off-site.

Not only would it be a way to track rankups, but it would be a better place of notice for those of us who seldomly use Discord, but frequently check the off-site.

I personally don't mind checking Discord every so often, but I've never seemed to get used to using it. As such, I've spent most of my time here. I feel that introducing the rankups here may also increase off-site presence/participation.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I totally echo what you are saying, I too dont use discord, not just occasionally but ever.
I would love it if there was a list published, I can of course access the ranks discussions on here and take part in the process, so I do know what is happening and when .

This isn't such a bad idea, although I don't really mind just noticing in clan chat.

I guess the only negative connotation would be the 'encouragement' of a CC rank being a reward/topic of contention and we all know it's not about that here. Maybe a thread to show them without replies allowed would work - just can see it creating a culture of 'rank hunting' I guess!

@arrryh -- Absolutely. I didn't mention that part but that's exactly what I mean. Just like the Discord, no one would be able to reply to the thread. I suppose Imeant the "participation" is giving others more new things to take a look at from time to time.

There's just so many of us and I can't notice them all to congratulate!

Sort of bumping this, because I think this could indeed be a cool little relevance booster for the offsite. Any interesting incentive for members to check the offsite and interact with it has the potential to increase activity, which is always nice!

This is certainly something that could be done!

Right now the #gem-thieves channel gets updated by any mod who gets around to it first, so just a matter of them or another mod posting it here as well.

Thank you for the reaction!! It's already great that there's communication back and forth about topics like these, but it's even sweeter to know that the staff is debating suggestions. <3
